- Jul 26, 2018 -

A air gun is a general term for a gun that launches projectiles by using pressurized gas as the power. It is a light weapon that does not use gunpowder. The prototype of the air gun was an ancient drum tube. The world's first air gun was presented to European countries in 1430.

By the end of the 18th century, military operations in countries such as Austria and France were equipped with air guns with compressed air bottles that could be fired 20 times. At the beginning of the 19th century, they were replaced by more sophisticated firearms because of their poor combat performance (short range and low power). A air gun is used only as a racing gun. Modern rifled gun, with 4-12 rifling lines, 3-5.6 mm caliber, maximum range 200 m, commonly used range 50 m, 80 m and 150 m. The gun is fired with a hollow tube of lead or a pointed steel bullet with tail fins.
